Carol Vogel, the founder of B.M.S. PET SITTERS, is a pet professional with over 15 years of experience providing high quality, reliable care to pets and the people who love them. She holds a Certified Professional Pet Sitter Certification through Pet Sitters International. In addition, she is Red Cross Pet First Aid certified. She and her business are also Bonded and Insured as well as being Background Check Verified.

B.M.S. Pet Sitters is named after Carol’s three furry babies, Betty, Mallory and Suzy. All three dogs are adopted from one of many local Animal Shelters. Mallory and Suzy were adopted in Fredericksburg Virginia.  After moving to Florida, Carol volunteered at a shelter in Yulee, and decided to foster Betty.  Poor Betty was heart worm positive and partially blind in one eye, but such a special dog that Carol and her family could not let her go, and adopted her themselves.

Unfortunately Suzy passed away from liver cancer in 2014, she was very loved and missed every day. Loosing Suzy was difficult, but then Carol and her family were able to open their hearts and home to Sookie Christmas 2014. Sookie was rescued from the Frances R. Willis SPCA, now called Dorchester Paws, in Summerville.

In the Beginning

Carol’s love for animals led her to work with Julie Neaumann at Furry Farm Pet Boarding Camp in Fredericksburg VA http://furryfarmcamp.com, and with Linda Moreno at Dandy Time Boarding Kennel in Artesia NM (602 W Mill Rd Artesia NM 88210 575-746-4009).

When Carol’s Husband received a job offer in Charleston with the Department of Homeland Security, Carol and her family  moved to Charleston in 2007.  After falling in love with the Charleston are, Carol decided to make this her permanent home.

As a pet owner and having worked in the industry, Carol can understand the needs of the pet and the owner. The objective for Carol and her company is to provide the best possible in-home care for your pet, and to give you, the owner, peace of mind when you’re away from home.

At this time Carol personally cares for all of her clients, with occasional help from a few trusted part time staff members. Due to this fact, B.M.S. Pet Sitters will not overbook, and will only take appointments to service a client load that can be reasonably handled.  Service is provided to Summerville and the surrounding area. Please contact us to check for availability if you are outside of the Summerville area.
